OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has decided not to issue a shutdown order for ConocoPhillips’ Tor complex in the North Sea.

PSA had been concerned by recurring nonconformities linked to theTor 2/4E depressurization system. Last month it sent ConocoPhillips notification of a request to implement a new system compliant with regulatory requirements.

ConocoPhillips has since provided new information regarding compensating measures in the period up to when the depressurization system is corrected, in accordance with the company’s plans.
