    Alvheim floater back in service following shutdown

    Production from the Marathon-operated Alvheim and Volund fields in the Norwegian North Sea had to be shut down for 13 days this month due to unscheduled maintenance on the Alvheim FPSO.

    STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Production from the Marathon-operated Alvheim and Volund fields in the Norwegian North Sea had to be shut down for 13 days this month due to unscheduled maintenance on theAlvheim FPSO.

    According to partner Lundin Petroleum, Marathon performed preventative maintenance on the FPSO’s fire prevention system.

    Normal operations have since resumed, and the Alvheim and Volund fields have restarted production.
