STAVANGER, Norway -- ConocoPhillips Skandinavia has contracted Aker Offshore Partner to modify platforms on the Eldfisk field in the Norwegian North Sea.

Aker’s $232-million program will take in the Eldfisk 2/7 A, 2/7 FTP, 2/7 B, and Embla platforms (ConocoPhillips is also installing a new platform, Eldfisk 2/7 S). The modifications should extend Eldfisk’s productive life.

Work is due to be completed in May 2015, and will be managed from Aker Solutions' offices in Stavanger, with 400-500 personnel involved.

Aker Solutions previously performed the FEED for the Eldfisk II project.
