TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap has halted a hydrocarbon leak in the pump room on the AlvheimFPSO in the Norwegian North Sea.
The incident yesterday morning triggered a gas alarm and all production was stopped immediately.
Det norske mobilized its offshore and onshore emergency response organization, but the crew on the FPSO managed to stop the leak after a short period of time, with no discharge into the sea.
The company expectsproduction to be back to normal shortly.
