MUSCAT, Oman – Masirah Oil has re-started oil production from the Yumna field offshore Oman after resolving a leak from a flexible flowline that halted operations on August 9.

The system transferred oil from Yumna’s mobile offshore production unit to its floating, storage and offloading unit.

The company has since replaced it with a larger flowline, said to be more robust, and also took the opportunity during the enforced shutdown to bring forward maintenance on the platform that had been scheduled for November.

It is currently performing gas-lift operations to increase production from the Yumna-3 well.

Yumna, in block 50, came onstream in 2020.
