    BW investigating temporary gas-lift solution for Tortue offshore Gabon

    OSLO, Norway – BW Energy’s Tortue field in the Dussafu Marin permit offshore Gabon delivered higher production in 4Q 2021 of around 1.1 MMbbl of oil, mainly due to the start-up of two Tortue Phase 2 wells.

    However, a shortage of gas lift capacity continued to impact operations, with stable production from four of the field’s six wells.

    During an imminent 12-day annual maintenance shutdown, the company will assess stopgap measures for improving gas lift capacity until a permanent compressor is installed, probably late this year.
