HOUSTON – VAALCO Energy says its South Tchibala 2H well in the Etame area offshore Gabon has stopped producing due to a downhole mechanical failure.
At the time the well was producing around 830 b/d.
The company said it was unlikely to address the well failure, which appears to be unrelated to the electric submersible pump, until the next drilling campaign.
In early April the company released the Vantage rig that had performed two workovers interventions and other drilling operations on Etame area wells.
