First oil flows from Bozhong project offshore China

HONG KONGCNOOC has started production from the Bozhong 34-9 oil field in the southern Bohai Sea offshore China.

The development, tied into existing facilities at the Kenli oilfield and in an average water depth of 18.1 m (59.4 ft), included installation of a central platform and a wellhead platform.

CNOOC plans to drill 57 wells comprising 38 producers and 19 water injectors, with production reaching a peak of around 22,500 b/d in 2022.
