Socotherm opens coating plant

VICENZA, Italy --Pipe coating/insulation specialist Socotherm has inaugurated its new Marine Base in Sicily.
The facility at the port of Pozzallo will serve subsea pipeline projects in the Mediterranean region. It includes a covered area of around 12,000 sq m (129,167 sq ft) housing internal and external anti-corrosion/thermal insulation plants for deepwater pipelines.
The outside area, extending over 128,000 sq m (31.6 acres), will allow storage of bars and coated pipes. Socotherm also plans to install a concrete weight coating plant and a double-joint fabrication rack.
