Corinth to fabricate pipes for deepwater Leviathan gas project

Chevron has contracted Corinth Pipeworks to manufacture about 118 km of longitudinally submerged arc-welded steel pipes for the next-phase development of the Leviathan gas field.

ATHENS, Greece  Chevron Mediterranean has contracted Corinth Pipeworks to manufacture about 118 km of longitudinally submerged arc-welded steel pipes for the next-phase development of the deepwater Leviathan gas field offshore Israel.

Water depths range from 1,540-1,800 m.

The project will connect a subsea manifold to the platform in shallower water closer to the shore, where the gas will be processed before being transported to the mainland.

Corinth Pipeworks’ facilities in Thisvi, Greece, will fabricate the pipes, the scope of supply including application of three-layer polypropylene, external coating at the same location.

Offshore installation is due to begin in 2024.
