Tekmar supplies Woodside with pipeline repair contingency hardware

DARLINGTON, UK – Tekmar Subsea has completed a project for contingency planning in event a subsea pipeline repair is needed on Woodside’s Pluto project offshore Australia. The £1.3 million ($2 million) contract is for repair clamps and mechanical connectors.

The diver installed equipment will be stored in nitrogen-filled containers for immediate use to prevent major downtime and environmental damage.

The repair clamps were supplied to suit both 6 in. and 36 in. NS pipelines and are suitable for pressures ranging from 170 bar to 450 bar (2,456 psi to 6,526 psi) with their mechanical connectors designed to withstand end loads of up to 1,000 Te.
