Tullow achieves big leap in Schooner-Ketch gas output

Offshore staff

(London) Tullow Oil has doubled production from its Schooner-Ketch redevelopment in the UK Southern North Sea to over 100MMcf/d. Ketch-7, the second well in the program, was brought onstream last month, and is currently averaging over 50MMcf/d. Ketch-8 is currently being drilled with a 3,000 ft horizontal section, and should be in production in January.

An appraisal well into the undeveloped NW Schooner extension has tested gas at 7.5MMcf/d from Ketch reservoir sands, and appears to confirm communication with the main Schooner field.
