PERTH, Australia –Chevron Australia Pty Ltd has signed a 22-year, $600-million contract with GE to maintain compressor trains and associated equipment serving the Gorgon Project offshore northwestern Australia.
The GE Oil & Gas Global Services division will provide scheduled maintenance, resident engineering, monitoring and diagnostics, engineering analytics and a guarantee of production continuity.
GE’s first contract performance manager is scheduled to start work in Perth in October of this year.
The Gorgon Project is operated by Chevron and is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (47.3 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent), Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (1 percent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 percent).
