RWE extends acreage offshore Norway

Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has granted RWE Dea interests in two North Sea licenses.

HAMBURG, Germany – Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has granted RWE Dea interests in two North Sea licenses.

Both are in the north of the sector, and were issued under last week’sAwards in Predefined Areas (APA) 2012 round.

RWE Dea will operate the PL694 license with a 40% interest. The license is in the same area as the company’s PL330, PL653, and PL654 permits.

It also has a 20% share in PL682 – nearby the company operates PL420 containing the Titan discovery, and is a partner in the Gjøa field and PL418, which includes the recentSkarfjell discovery.

This year the company will drill two wells in the Titan area and an exploration well on the PL330 license. Additionally, it aims to progress development of theZidane field.
