Supply vessel collides with Forties Echo platform

Workers on Apache North Sea Forties Echo platform have moved to the Bravo platform following operations shut-in after the platform was hit by a supply vessel.

LONDON – Workers on Apache North Sea Forties Echo platform have moved to the Bravo platform following operations shut-in after the platform was hit by a supply vessel.

Reuters reported that 15 workers were airlifted from Echo to Bravo and that 15 workers remain on Echo from the incident yesterday morning.

Apache has told Reuters that there were no injuries and that there is no hydrocarbons leak or structural damage.

“An initial visual inspection has been carried out from the platform’s standby vessel and a specialist inspection team is being mobilized to assess the damage to the platform,”Apache said in a statement.
