Tullow Oil has commissioned Shearwater Geoservices to acquire Ghana’s first deepwater ocean-bottom node (OBN) seismic survey. The two-month program over the Jubilee and TEN fields is due to start during the fourth quarter, Shearwater reported Aug. 27.

The company recently completed an OBN deployment nearby offshore Côte d’Ivoire using the SW Tasman vessel to run the company’s Pearl OBN platform. The same combination has been used for consecutive surveys offshore Angola.

Tullow and its partners aim to use the results of the Jubilee/TEN survey to enhance reservoir imaging, supporting future field development and production strategies.

Earlier this year, Shearwater conducted a streamer survey over the same fields.
