Fugro unveils fourth geo-test laboratory in Asia-Pacific region

Fugro has opened a geotechnical testing laboratory in Jakarta, Indonesia, which it claims should reduce testing turnaround times for its projects in the Asia-Pacific region by 30%.

Fugro has opened a geotechnical testing laboratory in Jakarta, Indonesia, which it claims should reduce testing turnaround times for its projects in the Asia-Pacific region by 30%.

This will allow the company to deliver results of marine geotechnical and geohazard analyses more quickly.

The 550-sq-m laboratory complex, featuring over 30 testing stations, will employ more than 120 Indonesian personnel including 40 geotechnical engineers and technicians. 

According to Fugro, it is accredited to ASTM and ISO 17892 standards.

The company now operates four offshore testing laboratories in the region, the others being in Australia, Singapore and Taiwan.
