ASKER, NorwayTGS and Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) have started a 3D multi-client seismic project offshore eastern Canada.

The new Tablelands 3D Geostreamer survey will cover about 8,000 sq km (3,089 sq mi) in an active Newfoundland area of the Flemish Pass and Orphan basins. Acquisition is expected to be completed in late 3Q 2018.

Following this eighth consecutive season of data acquisition offshore East Canada, the jointly-owned library will have more than 175,000 km (108,740 mi) of 2D GeoStreamer data and about 36,500 sq km (14,093 sq mi) of 3D GeoStreamer data.

Pre-processing of the initial GeoStreamer signal will be performed by PGS onboard its vessel,Ramform Hyperion, following which TGS will perform data processing using its Clari-Fi broadband technology.

Fasttrack data will be available in 4Q 2018 with final data in 2Q 2019. This project is supported by industry funding.

TGS said that the survey area will be merged with theLong Range 3D project acquired in 2017.
