Alewijnse provides electrics for Fugro survey vessel

Alewijnse Marine has completed a comprehensive electrical outfitting of the 72-m (236-ft) long survey vessel Fugro Venturer.

– Alewijnse Marine has completed a comprehensive electrical outfitting of the 72-m (236-ft) long survey vessel Fugro Venturer.

The vessel, built at the Fassmer yard in Berne, Germany, can undertake seismic surveys for the offshore and wind markets. It recently started its first assignments in thedeepwater Irish Atlantic margin and the far North of the Norwegian Barents Sea.

Alewijnse Marine designed, manufactured, installed, and commissioned the main power generation and distribution systems, engine room alarm and monitoring system, navigation- and communication systems, closed circuit TV installation, public address and general alarm system, lighting and wheelhouse consoles.

Another highlight of the design, the company added, is the electrical propulsion system, said to ensure acoustically quiet and fuel-efficient operation.
