Seismic exploration offshore Alaska in the Chukchi Sea can proceed following a federal judge’s ruling that it does not fall under the offshore drilling ban.

SAN FRANCISCO – Seismic exploration offshore Alaska in the Chukchi Sea can proceed following a federal judge’s ruling that it does not fall under the offshore drilling ban. Shell and Statoil are among those ready to pursue seismic data gathering, according to the Dow Jones report.

The state of Alaska has requested the court of lift the injunction entirely according to Sean Parnell, Alaska’s governor.
