TORONTO -- Offshore Israel exploration specialist Adira Energy has appointed two new specialists to its technical team.

Adira’s new chief geophysicist, Moshe Politi, has 38 years’ experience in exploration and development of various plays in Israel, Colombia, Venezuela, and China. He specializes in the integration of multidisciplinary aspects and methodologies of geology and geophysics into viable prospects in environments, including onshore, offshore, shallow and deep prospects, structurally complex (overthrust), and stratigraphic plays.


Greg Embery, the company’s new vice president, geology, has 30 years’ experience as a petroleum geologist in exploration and development, specializing in preparation of new basin exploration programs and geological interpretation of newly discovered trends and plays, including a large unconventional gas play in southern Africa. He joins from project management group Kinley Exploration.


The company holds three Israeli petroleum exploration licenses, covering a total area of around 160,500 acres (64,952 ha). Of these, Gabriella is 10 km (6.2 mi) offshore between Netanya and Ashdod, and Yitzhak 17 km (10.6 mi) offshore between Hadera and Netanya.
