    CGG to manage first Nile Delta 3D OBN survey

    CGG will perform 3D seismic imaging for the first OBN survey ever in the Nile Delta offshore Egypt for bp and partner Pharaonic Petroleum Co.

    MASSY, France— CGG will perform 3D seismic imaging for the first ocean-bottom node (OBN) survey ever in the Nile Delta offshore Egypt for bp and partner Pharaonic Petroleum Co.

    This will cover the Atoll and Atoll North fields.

    CGG will apply ocean-bottom seismometer (OBS) and full-waveform inversion imaging technologies as well as HPC at its imaging centers in the UK and Cairo.

    The company aims to provide 3D images of pre-Messinian targets with increased velocity model detail, image bandwidth and AVO reliability to help the partners with development planning and near-field exploration.
