ZAANDAM, the Netherlands — KenzFigee has supplied a launch and recovery system (LARS) for Fugro’s new offshore geotechnical system.
The Fugro Blue Snake is an integrated LARS /seabed research system combining cone penetration testing and sampling technology equipment.
It is housed in a 40-ft container and a 10-ft control container for swift mobilization with flexible deck space requirements said to minimize manual handling.
The integrated design of the LARS/seabed system is said to facilitate faster deployment and operation, with improved weather workability. The winch and heave motion systems are fully electric and use a passive CT function to reduce power consumption during seabed sampling operations.
