OSLO, Norway – TGS has released its North West Europe Facies Map Browser (FMB) 4.6.0.

The industry-supported interpretation tool, combined with TGS’ seismic library, is designed to support conventional oil and gas exploration and regional carbon storage assessment programs offshore the UK and Norway.

TGS’ latest version follows a year-long process of data conditioning and geological interpretation.

Updates include all newly-released UK and Norwegian exploration and appraisal wells; new data types, such as porosity and permeability data from core measurements; and mud gas logs.

The company has also completed Jurassic, Upper Cretaceous and Tertiary stratigraphy upgrades using well data and its seismic library to support technical evaluations, development of play concepts, and delineation of prospects in frontier and mature near-field areas.

FMB 4.6.0 desktop browser includes functionality updates and improvements to query/visualization tool performance.

TGS will continue to expand the North West Europe FMB database as work gets under way on the next annual release, scheduled for 1Q 2022.
