Magseis books further deepwater GoM OBN survey

Magseis Fairfield has received an award for a deepwater ocean bottom node monitor survey in the US Gulf of Mexico.

OSLO, Norway/HOUSTON Magseis Fairfield has received an award for a deepwater ocean bottom node (OBN) monitor survey in the US Gulf of Mexico.

The survey is anticipated to start in 1Q 2021 and run for about three months.

The OBN study is for a repeat customer, with nodes to be deployed by ROV at 1,000-1,900 m (3,281-6,234 ft) depth.

The company said it will mobilize the ZXPLR1 crew for this data acquisition contract.

CEO Carel Hooijkaas said: “This contract ensures a continued backlog on our ZXPLR1 crew well into Q3 2021.”
