Offshore staff
LEIDSCHENDAM, the Netherlands – Fugro has completed the first phase of an offshore site investigation for Qatargas’ North Field production sustainability compression project.
Phase one focused on the geophysical scope: the geotechnical scope (phase two) will continue into next month.
Fugro has deployed its Proteus and Adventurer vessels for the campaign, which includes cone penetration testing and P-S logging.
Final deliverables – a bathymetric and geophysical survey and a geotechnical appraisal of the soils encountered – will serve to optimize the design of the jacket platform pile foundation and pipeline and cable-route engineering at the North Field, 80 nautical mi off Qatar’s north coast.
