Searcher study to complement offshore Timor-Leste bid round

WEST PERTH, AustraliaSearcher Seismic has struck a marketing and sales agreement with Timor-Leste’s Petroleum Authority, Autoridade Nacional Do Petroleo E Minerals (ANPM), for its Offshore Timor-Leste Data and Study Package.

The company, in collaboration with Discover Geoscience has prepared the package of seismic and well data to assist clients with evaluation of Timor-Leste’s second petroleum licensing round, announced last October.

On offer are 19 offshore blocks.

Results of a technical prospectivity study are also available over the entire offshore bidding area, covering regional geology, prospectivity ranking, and potential play identification.

The package includes 87,000 km (54,059 mi) of 2D and 17,000 sq km (6,564 sq mi) of 3D open-file seismic, all rectified; and data from 85 open-file wells, with 67 of those containing digital profile information.

The study employed a multi-disciplinary approach to assess all plays from the Permian to Cretaceous, with an extensive review of the under-explored Triassic potential play types.
