MASSY, France – CGG subsidiary Sercel has introduced an ocean bottom node called GPR, developed in partnership with China’s BGP.

This uses the company’s QuietSeis broadband digital sensor technology to collect data for more accurate seismic imaging, CGG claimed, compared to data compiled by conventional sensors.

The new node, which has completed sea trials, is said to have a compact design and to benefit from the quiet performance of QuietSeis, with flexible deployment options, CGG added.
