DUBLIN, Ireland – Well site survey operations for the next phase of drilling on the Barryroe oil field offshore southern Ireland should begin this summer, according to Providence Resources.

The field is in 100 m (328 ft) water depth in the North Celtic Sea basin and 50 km (31 mi) offshore in standard exploration license 1/11.

Providence subsidiary Exola DAC operates on behalf of partners APEC Energy Enterprises and Lansdowne Celtic Sea.

Earlier this month the partners sanctioned amendments to the original farm-out agreement involving APEC, but due to delays in dealings with its investors, APEC has requested a further extension for payment of an initial $9-million loan until no later than July 5.

The well site survey remains subject to receipt of required funding and all regulatory consents, but should still go ahead in 3Q, Providence said.
