ABL will provide marine warranty survey services to bp’s Tangguh UCC project in Papua Barat Province, Indonesia.

ABL will provide marine warranty survey (MWS) services to bp’s Tangguh UCC project in Papua Barat Province, Indonesia.

This comprises development of the offshore Ubadari field development via enhanced gas recovery (EGR) through carbon capture, utilization and storage CCUS), and onshore compression.

It is also the first CCUS project developed at scale in Indonesia, designed to capture and store about 15 MMmt of Tangguh’s CO2 emissions during the initial phase.

The overall Tangguh LNG EGR/CCUS development will feature three injection wells, one offshore injection platform and one offshore CO2 pipeline, with onshore facilities for the CO2 removal, processing and compression.

P.T. JGC Indonesia is the onshore EPCO contractor responsible for installation of the onshore compression facilities at the Tangguh LNG plant.

These will be mainly hydrocarbon compressors (2,350 MMcf/d), boostig natural gas pressure from the existing gas wells; EGR compressors (270 MMcf/d) collecting and compressing acid gas from an existing acid gas removal unit; and a new combined cycle power plant and associated utilities.

ABL’s division in Indonesia will manage the MWS services on the contractor’s behalf and will also undertake a technical review of project documentation, drawings and calculations related to transportation of the warranted cargoes, and suitability surveys of the proposed transportation fleet for the cargoes.

It will also witness and approve the RoRo (roll-on, roll-off) and LoLo (lift on, lift off), loadout, transportation and discharge of modules from Indonesian fabrication sites.
