CNR prepares for North Sea Ninian platform decommissioning

CALGARY, CanadaCanadian Natural Resources plans to start abandonment of the Ninian North platform in the UK northern North Sea later this year.

The company made the announcement in a statement on its global reserves. At the end of 2016 its proven North Sea resources has decreased 15% to 141 MMboe.

North Sea proved plus probable reserves decreased 11% to 267 MMboe.

Offshore West Africa, the company’s proven reserves fell by 3% to 92 MMboe, largely due to 2016 production performance, while proved plus probable reserves in this region slid 5% to 146 MMboe.
