STAVANGER, Norway --StatoilHydro has contracted Aibel for studies concerning a safety system upgrade of its Snorre A platform in the North Sea.
The comprehensive upgrade is needed to comply with new Norwegian regulations. Work includes conducting various fire simulations in process and derrick areas and analyzing the impact on nearby structures.
StatoilHydro will use this structural analysis to decide if there a case for adding passive fire protection in the exposed areas.
