ZWIJNDRECHT, The Netherlands -- Heerema Vlissingen has delivered a template for the Tombua Landana platform. The template and piles, the longest ever built, are being transported to Angola.

Construction of the 3,000-metric ton (3,306-ton) template and 12, 625-ft (190-m) piles for the Tombua Landana platform began in 2006. It took more than 240,000 man hours for the template, which Heerema Vlissingen fabricated for DSME on behalf of Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. (CABGOC) and partners.

The Tombua Landana platform will be installed approximately 50 mi (80 km) from the coast of Angola in 1,200 ft (366 m) water depth. The platform measures 1,554 ft (474 m) high and weighs 76,000 metric tons (83,776 tons).
