Husky lays foundation for next-phase White Rose drilling

Husky Energy (Toronto:HSE) says a new drill center has been excavated offshore Newfoundland in preparation for development of the South White Rose extension.

CALGARY, Canada – Husky Energy (Toronto:HSE) says a new drill center has been excavated offshore Newfoundland in preparation for development of the South White Rose extension.

Subject to approvals, the company anticipates first oil from this project in 2014.

Pre-sanction work continues on theWest White Rose development.

To support future drilling and exploration, Husky has contracted the new harsh environment semisubmersibleWest Mira for five years. The rig is due to be delivered in 2015.
