STOCKHOLM, Sweden -– PA Resources (PAR) says development planning and procurement for the Didon North discovery offshore Tunisia is progressing as planned.

Didon North is 5 km (3.1 mi) northeast of the Didon field production platform. First oil is expected during the second half of 2011.

On the “7th of November” license, north of PAR's Zarat offshore oil field, operator Sonde Resources spudded an appraisal well on Nov. 24.

The well has reached total depth, with testing and evaluation under way. Sonde should provide an update of the results shortly.

PAR says drilling will help field unitization, with Zarat’s oil reserves extending across two licenses, and the outcome should form the basis for a revised development plan for the Zarat field.
