STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil (OSE:STL; NYSE:STO) has contracted Fabricom AS for maintenance and modification on the new Gudrun platform in the Norwegian North Sea.
The contract starts in August and runs through August 2020, with two further two-year options.
Additionally, Fabricom may perform maintenance and modification on theGina Krog platform in the same sector, which is currently under construction. The company estimated the total value of the contract at $131 million.
The Gudrun platform is 55 km (34 mi) north of theSleipner complex, while Gina Krog will be 30 km (18.6 mi) northwest of Sleipner and is expected to be in operation from 1Q 2017.
Last month, Fabricom cooperated with WorleyParson on tow-out and subsequent installation of a pre-compression module for Statoil’sKvitebjørn platform, also in the North Sea.
