Frames kit to process deepwater Zohr gas
ENPPI and Belayim Petroleum Co. (Petrobel) have contracted Frames to design and supply eight sour gas filter coalescers and eight shell and tube heat exchangers.
WOERDEN, The Netherlands – ENPPI and Belayim Petroleum Co. (Petrobel) have contracted Frames to design and supply eight sour gas filter coalescers and eight shell and tube heat exchangers.
These will be installed at the El-Gamil plant in Egypt that will be connected to the deepwater Zohr gas field in the Shorouk block in the Mediterranean Sea.
Operator Eni, which discoveredZohr last year, aims to start production at the end of 2017. The field will produce 2.6 bcf/d by 2019, equivalent to 40% of Egypt’s current gas production.
To meet the fasttrack schedule the filter coalescers and heat exchangers must be supplied within a year. Due partly to Frames’ cooperation with Egyptian agent Business Group for Investment, it took only three months from the request for quotation to the order award, says Joris Vink, sales engineer at Frames Separation Technologies.
Gas filter coalescers are applied in gas streams that require very low liquid content. Frames claims its coalescers provide a high level of efficiency for the removal of very small liquid droplets.
The company combines this technique with the upstream scrubber vessel, thereby optimizing the required plot space, leading to reduced investment costs.
Gas filter coalescers can also be supplied with internals to remove solid particles, providing a comprehensive separation solution.
Shell and tube heat exchangers are applied in fluid streams (gas/oil/water) that require cooling, condensing, heating, or evaporation.
Frames’ systems are said to reduce energy consumption and operational costs by efficiently transferring heat from one medium to another. They are designed according to TEMA and API660, and are used in different industries for offshore and onshore applications.
