KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Anasuria Hibiscus UK (AHUK) is facing a setback in its proposed development of the Marigold field area in the UK central North Sea.

The company recently acquired a 100% interest in the P2366 license from United Oil & Gas with the aim of integrating the discovered resources – including the Crown discovery – with a new hub development focused on Marigold and the Sunflower field.

Earlier this year, however, Britain’s Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) suspended its review of AHUK’s field development plan pending an assessment of an alternative offtake solution for the area proposed by Ithaca Energy.

Ithaca owns P2158 (block 15/18b) which is adjacent to the Marigold field and contains the Yeoman discovery.

Without agreement on a common offtake solution for the area, AHUK was unwilling to commit to further investment in its license, which automatically terminated on Sept. 30. But the company remains committed to working with the OGA to move the Quad 15 area development forward.
