ATHENS, Greece – Construction work has resumed on the FPSO Energean Power at the Admiralty Yard in Singapore, according to Energean, following restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Preparatory works for lifting the topsides modules started last week, and an application has been submitted to the Singapore Economic Development Board for the return of up to 529 workers for the project.

The pace of the workforce ramp-up this month will be determined by the Singaporean authorities’ assessment of the situation, Energean added.

Key FPSO activities in the run-up to first gas from the Karish field offshore Israel are topsides integration and commissioning in Singapore, expected to take around 10 months to complete; followed by the FPSO tow to the Karish field and subsequent mooring, hookup and commissioning of the FPSO (up to four months).

Last month Allseas’ pipelay vessel Solitaire and the construction support vessel Normand Cutter arrived offshore Israel. Near/onshore pipeline installation has finished, and laying has now started of the remaining 80-km (50-mi) pipeline that will take gas from the FPSO to Israel.

The Solitaire should complete the core installation by the end of this month, with the full installation and pre-commissioning program likely wrapped up during 4Q.

Installation is also under way of the subsea manifold and subsea isolation valves and should be completed by end-June, while installation of the three sets of risers that will connect the three producing wells to the FPSO should start during the fall, continuing into 1Q 2021.
