    Brave Tern to install CFXD wind turbines offshore Taiwan

    CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering has contracted Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jackup vessel Brave Tern to install the 62 turbines at the Changfang and Xidao offshore wind farms in Taiwan.

    OSLO, Norway – CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering has contracted Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jackup vessel Brave Tern to install the 62 turbines at the Changfang and Xidao offshore wind farms (CFXD) in Taiwan.

    After finishing installations on Yunlin offshore wind farm, the Brave Tern will start the transportation and installation of the MHI Vestas Offshore V174-9.5-MW wind turbines selected for CFXD.

    The project is divided into two phases across 2022 and 2023.

    The 600-MW CFXD offshore wind farms are 11-25 km (6.8-16 mi) west of Taiwan. Completion is expected in 2023.
