TRONDHEIM, NorwayOKEA is working on subsurface/concept studies for the Grevling and Storskrymten licenses in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

Under consideration for the Grevling discovery are a newbuild jackup mobile offshore production unit (MOPU) and an FPSO redevelopment.

In addition, the Chrysaor-led licensees of the PL973 exploration license, south of Grevling, have committed to drilling two exploration wells on the concession and an appraisal well, conditional on the results of the first wildcat.

The campaign is scheduled for 3Q-4Q 2020: any oil volumes proven could be tied in at some point to the Grevling development.

In the southeastern Norwegian sector, the company is a partner to Repsol in the Yme New Development project: the jackup Maersk Inspirer is undergoing an upgrade for the development at Aker Solutions’ Yard in Egersund.

Production from Yme should start this summer. The wellhead module was installed offshore last September.

An additional rig campaign, using the Valaris JU-290, is under way to execute hookup and carry-over work for the wellhead module. This should reduce the required hookup scope for the Maersk Inspirer when it arrives at the offshore location.

In October the submerged loading system was installed and Yme’s wells should be ready for production following pulling of plugs.
