Equinor extends drilling campaign in the Barents Sea

Equinor has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority for a further exploration well in the Barents Sea.

OSLO, NorwayEquinor has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority for a further exploration well in the Barents Sea.

The semisubmersibleSonga Enabler will drill the well in production license 532 on the Skruis prospect, 215 km (133 mi) northwest of Sørøya in Finnmark County and around 150 km (93 mi) northwest of the Goliat field.

Water depth at the site is 409 m (1,342 ft). Drilling should start next month and continue for 27 days.
