STAVANGER, NorwayHydraWell has completed an offshore well plugging program for TAQA in the Dutch North Sea.

This was at one of the fields connected to the TAQA-operated P15 platform, 35 km (21.7 mi) northwest of Hoek of Holland.

The dual casing perforation, wash and cement job was run from the jackupMaersk Resolute.

HydraWell deployed its HydraHemera perf, wash and cement (PWC) jetting system, said to be capable of installing a rock-to-rock barrier in two days.

In comparison, the company claims, plugging offshore wells with conventional methods such as section milling can take 10-14 days to complete, increasing associated decommissioning costs.

The company had previously supported TAQA in a UK North Sea program.
