Mærsk Gallant to drill HP/HT wildcat for Nexen in the North Sea

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Maersk Drilling expects to start a contract for Nexen Petroleum UK this summer in the North Sea.
The jackup rig will drill the high-pressure/high-temperature Glengorm exploration well, with operations likely to last for 140 days.
TheMærsk Gallant has been P&A’ing subsea wells for Maersk Oil on the Leadon and James fields in UK central North Sea, and is due to resume this work next April after completing the Glengorm campaign.
