Mærsk Gallant secures contract in the UK North Sea

Maersk Oil has contracted Maersk Drilling’s Mærsk Gallant jackup to P&A the Leadon and James subsea fields in the UK North Sea.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Maersk Oil has contracted Maersk Drilling’s Mærsk Gallant jackup to P&A the Leadon and James subsea fields in the UK North Sea.

The $24-million contract is due to start next February and has an estimated duration of 230 days.

The Mærsk Gallant will soon complete its current contract with Total E&P Norge A/S. The rig is designed for year-round operation in the North Sea, in water depths up to 120 m (394 ft) with an available leg length below hull of 138.5 m (454 ft). The rig is fully equipped for high-pressure/high-temperature drilling.
