Statoil has also signed a letter of award (LoA) with Odfjell Drilling that secures the semisubDeepsea Bergen for drilling activities in 2018-2019. The LoA includes one firm well plus three optional wells.
Estimated start of operations is 2Q/3Q 2018 in direct continuation with the rig’sdrilling program for OMV. The contract value is up to $55 million.
The two parties have additionally agreed to suspend completion of the currentDeepsea Bergen contract and re-arrange the drilling schedule, allowing the rig to start a one well plus option contract with Faroe Petroleum earlier.
On completion of the Faroe well, the rig will re-start work for Statoil and complete the remaining drilling program of one well at the contracted day rate.
