US Gulf of Mexico drilling rig count falls to 18
HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count fell by two over the past week to reach 18, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Nov. 3, 2017. That number is down by three year-over-year.
The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored the US GoM rig count, also falling by two to 18. That number is also down by three year-over-year.
The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was down by 11 to 898, with oil rigs down by eight to 729, gas rigs down by three to 169, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at zero.
Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 329, with oil rigs up by 279, gas rigs up by 52, and miscellaneous rigs down by two.
