US Gulf of Mexico drilling rig count holds steady at 20

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count was unchanged over the past week, holding steady at 20.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count was unchanged over the past week, holding steady at 20, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Oct. 27, 2017. That number is down by one year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored the US GoM rig count, also holding steady at 20. That number is down two year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was down by four to 909, with oil rigs up by one to 737, gas rigs down by five to 172, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at zero.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 441, with oil rigs up by 296, gas rigs up by 58, and miscellaneous rigs down by two.
