ABERDEEN, UK --Venture Production is looking to drill wells on two gas discoveries and two exploration prospects in the Greater Markham area of the southern North Sea. The company operates the Markham gas hub and the Chiswick tieback, both as a result of its acquisition last August of CH4 Energy.

East of Chiswick is the Kew field, discovered in 1998. This will be developed probably in 2008 via a single horizontal well with multiple hydraulic fractures, tied back to the new Chiswick platform. The Stamford discovery could be produced this year or next, either as a subsea tieback to Markham, or via an extended reach well from the Markham platform.

North of Markham, Battersea is a Rotliegend prospect with unrisked reserves of 30 bcf. Wandsworth, east of Chiswick, is a Carboniferous play holding potentially 58 bcf, which could be tied back to the Chiswick installation. Both prospects will likely be drilled late 2008 or early 2009.
