Seadrill has acquired the jackup drilling rig Petrojack IV for $180 million.

HAMILTON, Bermuda – Seadrill has acquired the jackup drilling rig Petrojack IV for $180 million. The rig was owned by Petrojack IV Pte Ltd of Singapore and is working offshore Thailand for PTTEP under a contract that expires at the end of 2Q 2014.
The rig is to be renamed West Cressida. It is a high-specification Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 design and can drill to 30,000 ft (9,144 m) in as much as 375 ft (114 m) of water.
